Reisinger Electric – Standard Terms & Conditions
At Reisinger Electric, we believe in clear, fair terms that protect both our team and our clients. These Standard Terms & Conditions outline how we price work, handle payments, stand behind our installations, and manage changes or cancellations. They apply to all residential, strata, commercial and industrial electrical work we perform in British Columbia.
By approving an estimate, proposal, or work order from Reisinger Electric, you agree to these Terms & Conditions as part of your contract with us. If anything is unclear or you'd like us to walk you through a specific section, please contact us directly, we're happy to explain.

Applies To: All residential, strata, commercial and industrial electrical work performed by Reisinger Electric ("we," "us," "our") in British Columbia.
By approving an estimate, proposal, or work order from Reisinger Electric, the client ("you," "your") agrees to these Terms & Conditions as part of your contract with us.
1. Pricing, Taxes & Payment Terms
1.1 Prices and Taxes: All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude GST and any other applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are based on the scope of work described in your approved estimate or proposal.
1.2 Payment Schedules:Service Calls & Small Repairs (Under $1,500): No deposit required. 100% payment is due on site upon completion of work, before our technician leaves the premises. Payment methods: credit card, debit, or e-Transfer.
Medium Projects ($1,500 – $10,000): A 50% deposit is required at the time of estimate approval to secure your installation date and order materials. If you cancel after estimate approval, we may retain an amount equal to our reasonable administrative costs and any non-recoverable material costs already incurred. The remaining 50% balance is due on site upon completion and final testing of the work.
Large Projects & Renovations (Over $10,000): 25% deposit upon estimate approval to lock scheduling and long-lead materials; 50% progress payment upon completion of the Rough-In stage (prior to closing walls); 25% final payment upon successful inspection and Final Trim-Out completion, or within 10 business days of substantial completion if inspection is delayed by the client or the authority, whichever is earlier. For projects subject to the BC Builders Lien Act, a statutory holdback of up to 10% may be retained by the owner as required by law. Any holdback will be administered in accordance with the Act.
1.3 No Set-Off: You agree to pay all invoices in full when due, without any deduction, set-off, or back charge for alleged deficiencies, delays, or other claims. Any disputes regarding workmanship, scope, or pricing must be raised in writing and resolved through our warranty and dispute resolution process, but do not relieve you of your obligation to pay invoices on time. This clause does not limit your rights under our 2-Year Workmanship Warranty or applicable consumer protection legislation.
1.4 Late Payments: Invoices are due on the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Overdue balances are subject to an administrative fee of 2.0% per month (24% per annum), calculated daily from the due date until paid in full. For residential clients, this interest will not exceed the maximum rate permitted by law. If an account is placed with a collection agency or legal counsel for non-payment, you are responsible for all reasonable collection costs, legal fees, and disbursements we incur.
1.5 Title to Goods: All equipment and materials we supply remain our property until the invoice is paid in full. This does not limit any lien rights under the Builders Lien Act.
2. Workmanship, Materials & Warranty
2.1 2-Year Workmanship Guarantee: Reisinger Electric provides a 2-Year Workmanship Warranty on installation labour. If a circuit or installation issue arises within 24 months due directly to our workmanship (a "workmanship defect"), we will, at our discretion, repair or re-perform the defective work at no charge for labour. This warranty is provided to the original client only and is non-transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2.2 What This Warranty Covers: Workmanship defects means issues directly resulting from our installation methods under normal operating conditions. Our sole obligation is to repair or re-perform the defective work. This warranty does not cover consequential, indirect, or incidental damages, including damage to finishes, personal property, downtime, or loss of use.
2.3 What This Warranty Does Not Cover: Our 2-Year Workmanship Warranty explicitly does not cover:
External & Environmental Damage: Equipment or wiring failures caused by utility power surges, grid spikes, lightning, flooding, fire, or acts of nature.
Misuse, Overloading & Third-Party Tampering: Issues caused by system overloading, improper use, or any modifications, repairs, or DIY alterations made to our work after completion.
Normal Wear & Tear: Gradual deterioration expected from normal use.
Lack of Maintenance: Failures arising from failure to maintain equipment per manufacturer instructions.
Pest, Rodent, Corrosion & Environmental Damage: Damage caused by pests, rodents, moisture, corrosion, or other environmental conditions.
Manufacturer Hardware & Replacement labour: Failures inherent to the materials, equipment, or devices themselves. All hardware replacement claims are governed by the manufacturer's warranty. Any labour required to remove, test, or reinstall a replacement part is billed as a separate service call at our standard rates.
2.4 Material & Equipment Warranties: Materials, fixtures, and equipment are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties only. We do not manufacture these products and cannot warrant third-party parts. You handle manufacturer warranty claims directly unless we agree otherwise. We are not responsible for manufacturer warranty decisions. If a manufacturer denies a claim, you are responsible for all associated costs. We may, at our discretion, assist with warranty claims for an additional service fee.
2.5 System Integrity & Modifications: Our workmanship warranty covers our original, undisturbed installation only. For safety and liability reasons, our warranty is void if any wiring, panels, or fixtures we serviced are subsequently opened, altered, or worked on by you or another party. Any service call required to inspect or fix third-party modifications will be billed as a new service call. We may, at our discretion, reinstate our warranty after we inspect and remedy third-party work at your expense.
3. Client-Supplied Equipment
3.1 Prior Approval & Certification: We may, at our sole discretion, install equipment or fixtures you supply (e.g., decorative light fixtures, ceiling fans, EV charging units). All client-supplied equipment must be declared before job commencement and must bear an accredited Canadian safety certification mark (e.g., CSA, cUL, cETL). We reserve the right to refuse installation of any client-supplied equipment that we deem unsafe, non-compliant with the BC Electrical Code, or otherwise unsuitable for the intended application.
3.2 Limited Warranty on Client-Supplied Items: When installing client-supplied equipment, we warrant our workmanship only. We provide no warranty on the functionality, longevity, internal components, or performance of client-supplied items. If a client-supplied item is defective out of the box, fails after installation, or causes a circuit trip, any service calls required to diagnose, remove, or replace the item will be billed as a new, separate service call at our standard rates. Unless stated in writing, we do not warrant compatibility of client-supplied equipment with existing systems. Any additional work required to integrate such equipment will be billed via change order.
4. Scope of Work, Changes & Site Conditions
4.1 Flat-Rate Guarantee: All work is quoted on a turnkey, flat-rate project basis for the approved scope. You will not be charged unexpected hourly fees or hidden material markups for the approved scope. This guarantee applies only to the scope described in your approved estimate. Any client-requested additions, upgrades, or changes are excluded and will be priced via change order.
4.2 Unforeseen Conditions & Change Orders: If hidden code violations, structural obstacles, hazardous existing wiring, or other unforeseen conditions are discovered after work begins, we will present a Change Order detailing the additional flat-rate cost. No additional work will proceed without your digital approval of the Change Order. Work may be paused pending your approval. If your decisions or access delays cause significant inefficiencies, we may bill additional time at our standard hourly rate for the affected portion of the work.
4.3 Access & Site Readiness: You are responsible for providing safe, clear, and timely access to the work areas. If the site is not ready (e.g., areas not cleared, power not available, other trades not complete), we may reschedule and charge a rescheduling fee to cover lost time and travel. We are not responsible for delays caused by other trades, building management, or authorities.
4.4 Permits & Inspections: Where required, we will arrange electrical permits through Technical Safety BC or the applicable authority. Inspections are subject to authority scheduling and are not under our direct control. Final payment is not contingent on the authority's inspection timeline if delays are outside our control, subject to the payment terms in Section 1.2.
4.5 Cutting, Patching & Finished Surfaces: Standard installation or wire routing may require cutting access holes in drywall, plaster, or finished surfaces. Reisinger Electric will make minimal, professional cuts necessary to complete the approved electrical scope. Unless explicitly written into your approved estimate as a line item, patching, mudding, sanding, painting, and structural restoration are excluded and remain the responsibility of the client.
5. Limitation of Liability & Insurance
5.1 Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to our work (including negligence) is limited to the contract price for the specific job giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any consequential, indirect, special, or incidental damages, including loss of profits, loss of use, or damage to business reputation.
5.2 Insurance: We carry commercial general liability insurance and are registered with WorkSafeBC. We are not responsible for damages that should be covered by your property or homeowner's insurance, including pre-existing conditions or damage caused by your negligence or failure to maintain your property.
6. Cancellation & Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule your job by contacting us in advance at trent@electrician2go.ca or 778-885-7074.
If you cancel after we have issued an estimate and begun procurement or scheduling, you are responsible for our reasonable administrative costs and any non-recoverable material or procurement costs already incurred, consistent with the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
Scheduled installations and projects: If you cancel or reschedule within 3 business days of the scheduled start date, a cancellation/administrative fee of $250 may apply to cover lost time and travel.
Service calls with a confirmed appointment time: If you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of the appointment, a cancellation fee of up to one hour of our standard service rate ($149 + tax) may apply.
Fees may be adjusted or waived at our discretion in cases of emergency or extenuating circumstances.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in BC. Any dispute arising out of or related to our work will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
8. Entire Agreement & Amendments
Your approved estimate or proposal, together with these Terms & Conditions, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Reisinger Electric for the work described. Any changes or amendments must be in writing (including digital Change Orders and signed estimates) to be enforceable.
